one closet, one year!

I was getting dressed for a friend's birthday party and I didn't know what I was going to put on my body. I looked in my closet and it seemed empty, unpromising. I've had these moments before; everything was old, ill-fitting, or blah. I thought to myself, "Ugh! I have NOTHING to wear!" Then I began rifling through my closet and saw a forgotten shirt I loved and many more, and I realized I was crazy. I had plenty to wear, and plenty to choose from. My closet was FULL of treasures! At that moment I decided I would take a year to explore my closet and to add NOTHING new to my wardrobe.

I would create a NEW outfit for each day in order to maximize my wardrobe and shake up my style.

Basically, I would try to "snap out" of my fashion rut, and appreciate what I have.

It was my New Years' project:
One Closet, One Year.

So Late!

I tried to perform my styling magic on the gorgeous Pollyanna, but I realized that it is easier to make outfits when you know clothes intimately and have a relationship with them. I found a few good combinations, but our photographer  had to go to a concert, so I will come back another day! I must also say that Pollyanna has a very fine collection of clothes. She has lovely pieces, with nice details, fabrics, and some classic prints. She also has some gorgeous shoes! I did not even get to see all of her clothes because we started playing with her adorable dog Jack, and HaHa and having girl time!

Anyway, on account of this girl time I need to publish my post in the next 16 minutes because it 11:44!!! I have to get it done before midnight! So sorry for the sloppy post!

Outfit:

Shirt: Salvation Army. I got this in high school. I cut the sleeves off and took the shoulder pads out, and today I'm wearing it backwards for nursing access.

Jacket: Old Navy. This is a maternity jacket and it is slightly too big. However, utility/safari are "in" for spring, according to my sources!

Pants: From Cousin. Gap!

Shoes: zoe & zac

Pics: Farmer's market, back room

Check out Erin's super-cute shirt below! Maybe it's hard to see?

  1. Look at my cheesy little Baby HaHa...the only thing that would make her cuter would be some little diamond rhinestones in her pierced ears. Just kidding!
