one closet, one year!

I was getting dressed for a friend's birthday party and I didn't know what I was going to put on my body. I looked in my closet and it seemed empty, unpromising. I've had these moments before; everything was old, ill-fitting, or blah. I thought to myself, "Ugh! I have NOTHING to wear!" Then I began rifling through my closet and saw a forgotten shirt I loved and many more, and I realized I was crazy. I had plenty to wear, and plenty to choose from. My closet was FULL of treasures! At that moment I decided I would take a year to explore my closet and to add NOTHING new to my wardrobe.

I would create a NEW outfit for each day in order to maximize my wardrobe and shake up my style.

Basically, I would try to "snap out" of my fashion rut, and appreciate what I have.

It was my New Years' project:
One Closet, One Year.

June Gloom!

Today was one of those foggy, gray days. I wanted to read in bed and stay cozy, but HaHa had other ideas. We did read a bit though...

I  guess it was better I didn't lounge in bed because I had to vote, pick up Leo, stop by Charlie's school, then come home to bake cookies for a family picnic. My baking mojo has been off for a while,  so I decided to try a new recipe. We only had brown sugar, so I googled, "Brown Sugar Cookies". I found several recipes that were pretty much the same. I think they were all fashioned after a recipe from America's Test Kitchen.

They came out perfectly! Yay! It was a relief. By the way, as I am typing this (at 10:21 p.m.), HaHa, is hobbling around with two legs in one pant leg that she worked very hard to pull on. I think I will have to put this post to bed in order to see that she gets to bed. Oh, here is the link to the recipe, in case you're interested: Brown Sugar Cookies. I have been writing my posts later and later, so that I can fully focus, but I guess that just isn't possible tonight. I think HaHa is off schedule because she had a late nap on account of the picnic. Anyway, I better go. Sorry for the sloppy post!

  4. Yes, I was wearing it, but I had my jacket on, too chilly!

It is funny that I am a pink wearer again, that and purple were my colors of choice for several years... I know I wasn't alone. Could it be the color choices made available to girls via clothing?... Maybe I should give this top to you Lauris, I don't think it fits me that well. Yesterday was the first time I've ever worn it! It's been in my closet for years!
