one closet, one year!

I was getting dressed for a friend's birthday party and I didn't know what I was going to put on my body. I looked in my closet and it seemed empty, unpromising. I've had these moments before; everything was old, ill-fitting, or blah. I thought to myself, "Ugh! I have NOTHING to wear!" Then I began rifling through my closet and saw a forgotten shirt I loved and many more, and I realized I was crazy. I had plenty to wear, and plenty to choose from. My closet was FULL of treasures! At that moment I decided I would take a year to explore my closet and to add NOTHING new to my wardrobe.

I would create a NEW outfit for each day in order to maximize my wardrobe and shake up my style.

Basically, I would try to "snap out" of my fashion rut, and appreciate what I have.

It was my New Years' project:
One Closet, One Year.

Comic-Con!

Wow! This Comic-Con is one amazing event! Costumes, characters, merch and sub-cultures, all milling about aisle upon aisle of convention center mania! Working at my friend's
I Heart Guts! booth was a gateway to a host of interesting folks.

Some of the people I talked to today included:

A renowned OB/GYN who has seen 12,000 patients this year. He also has a twin brother and a very sweet family.

A man who received a kidney from his mother 6 years ago, and is doing swell!

Another man who had both a kidney and pancreas transplant nine years ago. He is getting married next fall.

A girl who's mother is a sex-ed teacher. Said mother greatly embarrassed her daughter when she dropped a bunch of abstinence videos in front of a boy that was over who the girl liked. Her mother thought it would be funny. Said boy thought the mother was crazy!

An actor from HUNG. Not the title character.

Some girls wearing cat ears. And tails.

A boy with a tribble, and many, many others...

Outfit:

I have to wear a gutsy tee of course! Luckily I have a few of these to sport this weekend!

T-Shirt: I Heart Guts.

Jeans: Goodwill. Gap.

Shoes: Fit Flops.

Sweater: Hand me down from  FRESH  friend. H & M. It was pretty chilly here today, especially in the convention center!
