Birth of a project

I was getting dressed for a friend's birthday party and I didn't know what I was going to put on my body. I looked in my closet and it seemed empty, unpromising. I've had these moments before; everything was old, ill-fitting, or blah. I thought to myself, "Ugh! I have NOTHING to wear!" Then I began rifling through my closet and saw a forgotten shirt I loved and many more, and I realized I was crazy. I had plenty to wear, and plenty to choose from. My closet was FULL of treasures! At that moment I decided I would take a year to explore my closet and to add NOTHING new to my wardrobe.

I would create a NEW outfit for each day in order to maximize my wardrobe and shake up my style.

Basically, I would try to "snap out" of my fashion rut, and appreciate what I have.

It was my New Years' project:
One Closet, One Year.

Help!

Oh, boy! The things I get myself into! What can I say? I like to live on the edge. Or, I am just plain lame!

Ugh! I just realized that I have to write my "sub plans" out in a coherent way for my class tomorrow, which I will not be attending. One more thing on the list...

Anyway, I think I should keep it short and sweet today. Tomorrow should be promising, what with the Comic Con location and all! Stay tuned!

Outfit:

Shirt: My friend bought this for me when I was preggo. She saw that I liked it, and was kind enough to buy it for me! Target. Mossimo.

Pants: Goodwill. This was a jumpsuit I stupidly cut. It had little anchors on the straps! What a fool am I!

Shoes: Miz Moos by Gazith.

Here is a picture of the boys clowning around. I guess they get the pop culture references through osmosis!

  1. They look so retro. Charlie is a member of RunDMC and Leo is The Fresh Prince.

  2. Layna: Actually Charlie looks like Gilligan; it looks like he got off the island with his pal Bob Marley.
