one closet, one year!

I was getting dressed for a friend's birthday party and I didn't know what I was going to put on my body. I looked in my closet and it seemed empty, unpromising. I've had these moments before; everything was old, ill-fitting, or blah. I thought to myself, "Ugh! I have NOTHING to wear!" Then I began rifling through my closet and saw a forgotten shirt I loved and many more, and I realized I was crazy. I had plenty to wear, and plenty to choose from. My closet was FULL of treasures! At that moment I decided I would take a year to explore my closet and to add NOTHING new to my wardrobe.

I would create a NEW outfit for each day in order to maximize my wardrobe and shake up my style.

Basically, I would try to "snap out" of my fashion rut, and appreciate what I have.

It was my New Years' project:
One Closet, One Year.

Again!

Once again I find myself in the ridiculous situation of starting my post way too late, for not a very great reason. Or at least, not a very satisfying one. Because I was spending too much time drafting an e-mail for work, I arrived on Blogger at 11:23 p.m. Oy!

It's a mess! I really need to get some shut-eye!

I guess I can write a super-short post reminiscent of my first days on blogger. At least as far as writing about the outfits is concerned...

Actually, I just checked my early posts, and I have only one that is "super- short". I simply can't avoid blabbing on about whatever topic happens to come to my mind on any particular day!

Outfit:

Print shirt/dress: This was a gift from a very sweet friend I am going to see in NYC next week!!! This outfit is very close to an outfit I've worn already, but I added the sweater vest to avoid repeat action!!!

Blue sweater: Bought around the corner from said friend's old pad. I don't remember the store, but it had really cool and unusual knit-wear. It's at least 12 years old!

Jeans: Hand me down from friend. Express.

Shoes:Predictions

  1. I love that you just "talk" on your blog, about whatever going on vs. making grandiose statements about this, that and the third (I love saying that).

Life happens...if this was your only "work", your sole focus, that would be different but with all you have going on in your household as well as work...I'm impressed by your resolve to post once a day. AND...make up different outfits.

Very proud of you, my friend.
