one closet, one year!

I was getting dressed for a friend's birthday party and I didn't know what I was going to put on my body. I looked in my closet and it seemed empty, unpromising. I've had these moments before; everything was old, ill-fitting, or blah. I thought to myself, "Ugh! I have NOTHING to wear!" Then I began rifling through my closet and saw a forgotten shirt I loved and many more, and I realized I was crazy. I had plenty to wear, and plenty to choose from. My closet was FULL of treasures! At that moment I decided I would take a year to explore my closet and to add NOTHING new to my wardrobe.

I would create a NEW outfit for each day in order to maximize my wardrobe and shake up my style.

Basically, I would try to "snap out" of my fashion rut, and appreciate what I have.

It was my New Years' project:
One Closet, One Year.

Robin-Woman!

Today when I arrived home I unloaded the car, went upstairs, got undressed, and crawled into bed. It was only 9:00 p.m., but it's been a long week. And, I did not sleep very much the past two nights...

Anyway, Richard woke me up in order for me to post, and finally I made it downstairs to my computer. When I uploaded my pictures, they were overexposed, and I was going to try to re-take them. However, I decided that over-exposure is fine for today.

At the park the kids and I played "Robin-Boy (Charlie), Robin-Baby(Leo), Robin-Girl(Ha-Ha), and Robin-Woman(me). It was a lot of fun and a good reminder to play. We also got to play at my lovely friend Wendy's house, and a good time was had by all!!!

Outfit:

I was in a rush to get out this morning, so I just made sure I was wearing something I hadn't worn together yet... Not my most favorite outfit.

Black Shirt: Goodwill. Anne Klein.

Purple shirt: Emma &Sam.

Jeans: Big Sunday. Bu by Malibu Jeans.

Shoes: American Eagle.

Leo's favorite pose!

  1. What a cute picture with Leo's head just in the picture at the top. Then there is the Leo sneer. He does remind me of Ashton a little bit because he always used to make weird faces when he got his picture taken. I wish I could have been there, I could have been Robin Grand Ma-Ma and I could have watched you all from the side lines drinking an iced caramel frapp. How fun. In bed by 9pm...I don't believe it. Enjoy the long weekend.

  2. Hope you enjoy a long, restful weekend!
Forgive my ignorance, what is the Robin game?

  3. I think it's hilarious that your kids pick Robin over Batman as their super hero of choice. I think it says something about their characters... they root for the underdog, perhaps?

  4. No ignorance on your part. The Robin game is a made-up pretend game where they are super heroes. Charlie made it up! We run around and do super-hero things. Underdogs unite!
