one closet, one year!

I was getting dressed for a friend's birthday party and I didn't know what I was going to put on my body. I looked in my closet and it seemed empty, unpromising. I've had these moments before; everything was old, ill-fitting, or blah. I thought to myself, "Ugh! I have NOTHING to wear!" Then I began rifling through my closet and saw a forgotten shirt I loved and many more, and I realized I was crazy. I had plenty to wear, and plenty to choose from. My closet was FULL of treasures! At that moment I decided I would take a year to explore my closet and to add NOTHING new to my wardrobe.

I would create a NEW outfit for each day in order to maximize my wardrobe and shake up my style.

Basically, I would try to "snap out" of my fashion rut, and appreciate what I have.

It was my New Years' project:
One Closet, One Year.

81 Days Left!

After I got home today, and was thinking about a variety of things, it occurred to me that I have just over two months left of this thing. Two and a half months to be exact. I can't believe it! It seems to have gone by fairly fast. Amazingly, I haven't really missed shopping that much. Occasionally I have wanted a "Goodwill fix", but not being allowed to have one hasn't really been an issue.

I window shop and I find new ways of wearing clothes I've had for years. Fun, fun!

Newsflash! I just found out friends of ours (Richard and mine, that is) are expecting a baby!!! I am ecstatic! I cannot think of any better news! Yay, yay, yaaaaaayyyy!!!! Awesome!

Okay. Back to blahgging. People have been asking me what I will do after I'm done, and I say nothing. I will not be starting another blog unless somebody pays me to do it! This was a project, an idea, and I have been sticking it out, and sticking to my goal. One closet. One year.

Outfit:

Shirt: Old Navy Maternity. I bought this when I was pregnant with HaHa. I didn't buy many maternity things, but the ones I did, I made sure I could wear them after the babies came!

Pants: Thrift store. This was a jumpsuit I cut for some dumb reason! I have worn these pants a lot this year!

Shoes: zoe & zac.

Belt: Believe it or not, this belt did NOT come with this shirt, but they match perfectly!
