one closet, one year!

I was getting dressed for a friend's birthday party and I didn't know what I was going to put on my body. I looked in my closet and it seemed empty, unpromising. I've had these moments before; everything was old, ill-fitting, or blah. I thought to myself, "Ugh! I have NOTHING to wear!" Then I began rifling through my closet and saw a forgotten shirt I loved and many more, and I realized I was crazy. I had plenty to wear, and plenty to choose from. My closet was FULL of treasures! At that moment I decided I would take a year to explore my closet and to add NOTHING new to my wardrobe.

I would create a NEW outfit for each day in order to maximize my wardrobe and shake up my style.

Basically, I would try to "snap out" of my fashion rut, and appreciate what I have.

It was my New Years' project:
One Closet, One Year.

A Blogger's Lament!

Oh, would that I would write each day with wit and insight and ease. Every word on my post would sing! The words would come, always, without effort.

Oh, yes, that would be great.

However, the reality is that I've written everyday on this public forum, for 280 days! 280 days. That is crazy. It is also comforting to know that I am capable of commitment! Speaking of comforting, can I just say a big "Thank you!" to the people who take time out of their busy days to look at my blog? (how was that for awkward post transition?) It really warms my heart and I am very flattered. Very, very. I hope that soon I will be moved to write a powerful post with meaning.  For now, however it is pictures and a few lines.
My brain is just too tired!

Outfit:

Sweater: Bitten by SJP. I got this when I was pregnant with HaHa. I thought that looking like a fat bee would be a good idea. This is the same sweater I wore my first day on the blogosphere.

Pants: These are a hand me down from my tasteful cousin!

Shoes: Mossimo. I wore rain boots to school, then wore these inside.

  1. I've actually always loved that sweater. You look really cute. Love that even though I'm away I get a little piece of Shey everyday. It's lovely.
