Birth of a project

I was getting dressed for a friend's birthday party and I didn't know what I was going to put on my body. I looked in my closet and it seemed empty, unpromising. I've had these moments before; everything was old, ill-fitting, or blah. I thought to myself, "Ugh! I have NOTHING to wear!" Then I began rifling through my closet and saw a forgotten shirt I loved and many more, and I realized I was crazy. I had plenty to wear, and plenty to choose from. My closet was FULL of treasures! At that moment I decided I would take a year to explore my closet and to add NOTHING new to my wardrobe.

I would create a NEW outfit for each day in order to maximize my wardrobe and shake up my style.

Basically, I would try to "snap out" of my fashion rut, and appreciate what I have.

It was my New Years' project:
One Closet, One Year.

Exhaustion!

This is what happens when you're exhausted. My outfit and pictures are lacking. I just didn't have the energy to keep taking photos. I had a rough day, and it seems to be turning into a rough night. HaHa is experiencing some sort of PTSD, and refuses to sleep alone. She wakes up every time we put her down, so she's tired, and we are too.

The boys are also suffering because right now, they're an after-thought, and I'm cranky.

I know this too shall pass, but right now, it's exhausting.
I am including some photos from the beginning of the saga that I just got from my phone. You can really see how horrible HaHa was.

Outfit:

Shirt: Old Navy.

Pants: Gap.

HaHa being transported to UCLA.

The next day at UCLA. This is how she looked when I arrived.

  1. This is heartbreaking.

As you've said before, my heart goes out to parents who have to manage with sick children.

I hope all of you were able to get some much needed sleep.

  3. I just published a long whiny post about my exhausting day and then I read this elegant, cheerful summation. You are SO classy. And I hope things are easing up a bit. Thank goodness Hollis is all right...those are frightening photos!
