Birth of a project

I was getting dressed for a friend's birthday party and I didn't know what I was going to put on my body. I looked in my closet and it seemed empty, unpromising. I've had these moments before; everything was old, ill-fitting, or blah. I thought to myself, "Ugh! I have NOTHING to wear!" Then I began rifling through my closet and saw a forgotten shirt I loved and many more, and I realized I was crazy. I had plenty to wear, and plenty to choose from. My closet was FULL of treasures! At that moment I decided I would take a year to explore my closet and to add NOTHING new to my wardrobe.

I would create a NEW outfit for each day in order to maximize my wardrobe and shake up my style.

Basically, I would try to "snap out" of my fashion rut, and appreciate what I have.

It was my New Years' project:
One Closet, One Year.

Early to Bed!

After my mom wrote: "You need more sleep!" with a dozen exclamation points in the comments section today, I realized that, maybe, even though I am a 37 year-old woman, I should listen to my mother...

I wonder if, when my children are adults, they will listen to me. Heck, I wonder if they will listen to me tomorrow!

It will be very interesting seeing how it all turns out.

In thinking about this, I do know, that teenagers are monsters. I don't look forward those days. The attitude, the moping, the smell...

When my kids turn into teenagers I am moving to Paris. And I know Richard won't search for me because he will only go to the city of lights if it's free! Lucky me!

  2. What? You're not going to talk about your skirt? Skirts are more important than sleep, my mother always told me.
Anyway, it is two skirts, right? Oh, if it is I might have to copy you AGAIN because I love, love this look. I am noticing that all my favorite outfits of yours are long and pink. Hmmm.

  4. You'd better be in bed right now! I just dropped by to check on you.

...and, you looked lovely today. I really like this double-skirt thing. Though I don't think I could pull it off with my build.
