Birth of a project

I was getting dressed for a friend's birthday party and I didn't know what I was going to put on my body. I looked in my closet and it seemed empty, unpromising. I've had these moments before; everything was old, ill-fitting, or blah. I thought to myself, "Ugh! I have NOTHING to wear!" Then I began rifling through my closet and saw a forgotten shirt I loved and many more, and I realized I was crazy. I had plenty to wear, and plenty to choose from. My closet was FULL of treasures! At that moment I decided I would take a year to explore my closet and to add NOTHING new to my wardrobe.

I would create a NEW outfit for each day in order to maximize my wardrobe and shake up my style.

Basically, I would try to "snap out" of my fashion rut, and appreciate what I have.

It was my New Years' project:
One Closet, One Year.

Still Here!

Still in the hospital. Still exhausted. We hope to be home tomorrow. HaHa is definitely on the mend, as evidenced by the photos. Seeing her brothers for the first time in three days was very healing.

Some sweet little and big angels stopped by and kept me company today.

Thank you, Angels!

And thank you to all of you who reached out to us, sending love and prayers, and well wishes!!!

I feel very blessed!

Outfit:

Last night when I realized I would not be going home I was sad because I was going to have to repeat by default, but then I realized that I had thrown a purple shirt in my bag yesterday because I was going to wear it under the purple sweater! I also had my gray striped striped shirt in my bag because I was going to wear it under my mauve button down blouse a few days ago.

Anyway, I was saved by my obsessive need to have "enough" stuff. I am a total bag lady and can often be found carrying abundant amounts of many things.

Striped Shirt: Friend hand-me-down. Gap.

Purple shirt: Emma & Sam.

Jeans: Goodwill. Gap.

Shoes: American Eagle.  Charlie threw up minutes after this picture was taken. He made it to the bathroom, thanks to my maternal instincts! Good save!!!
