one closet, one year!

I was getting dressed for a friend's birthday party and I didn't know what I was going to put on my body. I looked in my closet and it seemed empty, unpromising. I've had these moments before; everything was old, ill-fitting, or blah. I thought to myself, "Ugh! I have NOTHING to wear!" Then I began rifling through my closet and saw a forgotten shirt I loved and many more, and I realized I was crazy. I had plenty to wear, and plenty to choose from. My closet was FULL of treasures! At that moment I decided I would take a year to explore my closet and to add NOTHING new to my wardrobe.

I would create a NEW outfit for each day in order to maximize my wardrobe and shake up my style.

Basically, I would try to "snap out" of my fashion rut, and appreciate what I have.

It was my New Years' project:
One Closet, One Year.

Baking in the Night!

Tonight I am baking, so that will leave me at another day of not being able to write anything of interest. However, I will still do my obligatory post and list the items I am wearing.

I am making brownies for the kid's teachers, and I am on my fourth batch so I am a little wonky. I did not get enough sleep yesterday, and I really want to go to sleep this instant, but I have to shower, and make lunches, and get HaHa down, and you know how one thing builds upon the other and the next thing you know hours have passed...

Two more days before winter break. The kids are absolutely nuts. It's amazing how wound they get. Makes me wonder about year round school. By the way, wearing a jacket and pumps, is a sure-fire way to get compliments!

Okay. Enough. Outfit:

White shirt/vest: Thrift store. Max Studio.

Dotted Shirt: Thrift store. I took the very puffy long sleeves off this shirt long ago.

Jeans: Cousin hand-me-down. Gap.

Shoes: Carlos Falchi. I love these shoes, but they are on their last leg!!!

  1. Once again, you look sooo good in pink! You know I love this outfit. Do people who look that good need less sleep or something? Have there been studies?

  2. I have a light right next to me-that makes for "good" photos! And blurred bags under the eyes...
