I had a fine day, but I really can't write about it right now because I have hundreds of math papers to correct and file. Literally. So, I will put up my pics and list my outfits, and tell you again that I have 297 days under my belt and 68 days left!!!
I can't believe it! I am almost there! So close, yet I still have 68 days to avoid repeated outfits. I gotta keep my game face on, and my eye on the prize!
It is raining! I love the sound!
Outfit:
Top: Old Navy. I think it's a little too maternity. I may have to ditch it in a few months!
Jeans: Big Sunday.
Shoes: Zoe & Zac.
Jacket: Goodwill. Allegory.

Freddy's Dead!
First of all, I got an email from one of my New York buds informing me that Freddy's, a 70 year old bar that was hugely important to me post-break-up of my second serious relationship, is closing in the coming week. I am so sad. To think of lovely, dive-y, Freddy's being demolished is disheartening. It is especially so when it is being demolished to make way for yet another billion dollar development project that is promoted by tycoons and fought by the locals. For 7 years many community members in this section of Brooklyn have protested the Atlantic Yards Project, but alas, it seems that Goliath won this time.
When I hear these stories it makes me not miss Brooklyn as much as I used to. On my last visit to New York, I walked from Time's Square all the way downtown and over the Brooklyn Bridge to Park Slope. The city had changed so much, and so much of it was shopping related. Target, K-Mart, Bed, Bath, and Beyond. These stores were stores I did not want to see in the city. I felt like I was an "alien in New York", as Sting said so many years ago. Oh, well, the good old days are gone, I suppose.
Outfit:
I was going with a color theme. However, when I saw the photos I took today I realized that this is a very Fall ensemble. It was chilly today, so I can pretend it was fall! The fashion police will kill me, I'm sure!
Satin Shirt: From friend. I.N.C. I have a friend who is into Feng Shui and color therapy (or something of that nature). She got rid of a bunch of her very nice stuff because the colors did not work for her anymore. Lucky Me! The orange Tracey Reese sweater I wore in Oral Hygiene! (another brown/ orange combo. I better watch it!) However, I am thinking this shirt doesn't work for me, either. It will be in the out pile soon!
Orange sweater: From cousin. Mossimo.
Brown pants: Goodwill. Moda International.
Jacket: Goodwill. Allegory.
Shoes: Mac & Jac.

Back to the Grind!
Today, I woke up early, made lunches, helped get the boys ready and fed, and scrambled to get myself dressed before rushing out the door. Oh, did I mention that Hollis woke up at the last minute which threw a wrench into my timely exit? Grandma's here, so I was going to leave her behind. She has mom-dar though, so she knew I was trying to ditch her.
After I dropped the boys off, it was off to Trader Joe's, then back home, back out to pick up Leo, then Charlie, then off to the dentist, and home again. Needless to say, the magic of spring break, with it's no need to rush about, and no getting up at a certain time, is over. I felt like a hamster running in the wheel of life. But I guess that's better than being a dead hamster.
Oh, did I mention that when I was at the dentist with the boys I ran into a parent of a former student and I had a bunch of nuts in my teeth? The whole time we were talking I stared at his gleaming pearly whites and tried to surreptitiously remove the particles from between my teeth. Very embarrassing...
Oh, did I mention that this is my worst post ever? Or second worst...

Barbies!
I spent the late morning with Hollis visiting my friend and Supported Birth founder, Jana. She had some of her teenage daughter's old Barbies out for Hollis. We talked and and had great time, and eventually we dressed the Barbies, and Jana showed me a pregnant barbie doll she had gotten in Israel where the stomach pops off and there's a baby inside, and a flat stomach you turn over to cover the space where the baby was. It was pretty awesome and something I've never seen before. They don't make them anymore because people freaked out about them. However, you can still find them on the net, but they are very expensive. Fun fun! Have more to report, but I will try to stop myself from blabbing as usual!
Outfit:
Note: Two of these elements have been used together already, but you see how you can make a completely new outfit simply by changing a few things!
Shirt: I believe this is from the 2005 New York International Children's Film Festival. I fashioned it a few years back! Also seen in Casual Friday! Belt from another shirt from cousin.
Printed Skirt: Goodwill. Over another plain black skirt from Forever 21.
Jacket: Goodwill. Allegory.
Shoes: These are from Target and I got them on sale for 7 bucks or something. I left them at my mom's two summers ago, but I told her to bring them back with her because I need them!

Hey Thursday!
Hey! So, I am not subbing today, which allowed me some time to catch up on things around the house (primarily showering) . My mom's twin sister is here keeping an eye on HaHa while I putter about. She is a life-line for our family and I do not know what we would do without Aunt Janine. The boys adore her, we adore her, she is very sweet to us, and a lot of fun to have around. She is a Grandma-Double. Richard and I would probably never go out if it weren't for her. When we win the lottery, she is on our list for a BIG payoff!
I'm keeping it brief after such a long post yesterday.
Outfit:
Sweater: From cousin. Mossimo.
Wrap blouse: I got this at a warehouse sale although I can't remember the name of the company that puts it on. I think the front of the shirt is made from old scarf material. It is now dubbed my "Tiger Woods" shirt. I have to support a fellow mulatto, even if he is "troubled".
Jacket: Goodwill. Allegory.
Jeans: Cousin. Gap.
Shoes: Payless! 5 bucks! They are the red platforms. They don't show up so well in this photo!
