So, I am at the Airport, where I just added pictures to Richard's post yesterday, but, my battery is about to die!
So I guess that makes it: Technology-2, Shelyana-0...
Or, maybe I get a half a point for posting this lame bit on the run!
I can't wait to write about my final two days in New York! They were awesome, and love-filled, and bittersweet. Life is that way, no?
HaHa was the most charming amazing baby. Besides the 2 a.m. bedtimes, of course. She is really just the sweetest thing, and I am glad I got some time alone with her to appreciate all of her lovely qualities.
Okay. Gotta run. I'd like to get some food before we get on the plane!
XoXo- Shaysh
And thanks to my lovely hubby for last night!
Outfit:
Wife-beater: Target. Most other summers I would be wearing these every day. However, I can't do that this summer!
Pants: Salvation Army. Mossimo.
Shoes: Fit Flops.
Neck wear: This is an old strapless bra that i thought looked like a cool collar. However, Willa, a hip, and wise teenager, was on to me, so I guess I'll have to nix this trick! Calvin Klein.
My little angel sleeps finally!!!

Infomercial Mania!
I have been staying up until one or two in the morning for at least two months. My posts, which I had been doing at a somewhat reasonable hour, kept getting pushed back later and later, and, as I've said before, I'm a night owl.The first couple of months I tried to post as early as possible. I gave up that dream because it just didn't work with my schedule and my obligations. It's hard to say, "No, HaHa, I can't read to you right now. Mama's blogging... Dinner? You will all have to wait." I have said it once or twice. But I try not to.
Now, truth be told, I am not only blogging in the wee hours. I am folding laundry, I am reading some of the beloved magazines my mother-in-law and Ayiko so kindly pass on to me, I am viewing a movie Richard isn't in to, and, on occasion, I am watching infomercials. Hey, it's my alone time. I can do what I like!
I cannot get enough of P90X, Meaningful Beauty, or Joan River's riveting advertisement for "The Right To Bare Legs". I so wanted to pick up the phone for my extra tube of tubular leg-blemish cover up, but I did not. I also want a Shake Weight. I mean, you can get totally toned arms and abs in only 6 minutes a day! However, all this night owl stuff is going on hiatus because I am teaching for the next 6 weeks and I have to wake up two hours earlier than usual! Yikes!
Outfit:
Shirt: Another handed down gem from my cousin Taylor. Old Navy.
Floral Skirt: Goodwill. To The Max! Seen in: Showers!
Pink Slip: Goodwill. Calvin Klein.
Shoes: Airwalk.

Sleep Deficit...
I sit in front of the screen, for the first time since I've started really, and know not what to write. A blankness fills my mind and I realize I only slept 5 1/2 hours last night! Therefore, I am tired and at a loss. I never used to need so much sleep, but I guess that's part of getting old. Back in the day I used to go out to a club, stay until last call, go out after last call, roll in to bed at 3 or 4 and wake up to babysit at 8:00 a.m! I had a regular Sunday morning gig from 9-12, and I never missed it. I was always on the go...
Now, I am on the slow-go.
Tonight, I am joining the amazing Ayiko for a wrap party. I wanted to mention that she is the person who coined the phrase "Treats" that I used in quotation marks a while back. I should have quoted her then, but I didn't. She uses "treats" to mean a variety of things. She might say: "Hollis has treats in her nose", or "He tried to show me his treats, but I looked away." Needless to say, she is a riot!
Oh, there is a website for Intact America where you can take a circumcision quiz. I got 6 out of 9! Let me know how you do!
Outfit:
Military Style Jacket: I also got this at a clothing swap, from my very stylish and wonderful friend Jaime. She is an educator extraordinaire, and she founded an incredible tutoring company called Academic Success. She is an inspiration!
Teal Scoop Shirt: This was a gift. It came with a cropped sweater trimmed with faux fur and lace. I guess I'll be wearing it at some point. I am wearing the top backwards. I may turn it around for the party tonight... We'll see!
Maroon Cami: This is by Calvin Klein. I got it ages ago, and it is on it's last legs/straps?...
Jeans: I scored these bad boys at a clothing swap! J. Crew. I always wear them with a long top because they are tighter than I like.
Shoes: Mossimo. From my admissions days!

This is Hollis sneaking in front of the camera saying "Cheese!" My little HaHa!

Be Mine!
I did make it out for a couple of hours last night! Even though HaHa was ill, I did not want to miss my friend Lilly's birthday party. She is a special lady, and I always think birthdays are some of the most important days to celebrate. We were invited to dress up for one of the many upcoming events in the month: Mardi Gras, Chinese New Year, President's Day and Black History Month. I was going to dress up as Harriet Tubman, but then decided to go with Valentine's Day instead because I was pressed for time.
To those of you concerned about HaHa, I thank you for your support. You all know there's nothing worse than a sick baby. We are taking care of Hollis after a disappointing day spent in urgent care. It amazes me how quickly doctors diagnose patients and dismiss them. Hopefully Hollis will be on the mend soon!
I hope you are all spending your day with the loves of your lives. Friends, pets, husbands, wives, children, boyfriends, girlfriends, brothers, sisters, mothers, fathers, cousins, neighbors, food, yourselves, or any other love I have left out! Happy Love Day!
There are two outfits today. One I wore to the party. And what I'm wearing today. I'll start with the party outfit.
Shoes: I got these shoes for my surprise wedding. They were on sale for $3.99!!! They are a brand called Irregular Choice and I love their designs. When I saw them I knew they would be perfect, even before I knew they were on sale.
Today's outfit:
Pink Slip Under Layer: This is a Calvin Klein undergarment I found at Goodwill. I love nightgowns!
Floral Skirt: Flowers for the day. Skirt from Goodwill. From my admissions days.
Pink belt: Thrift Store.
Shoes: Dance sandals. I cut the wrap-around ties meant to go up the leg and just tie them at the heel.
