Birth of a project

I was getting dressed for a friend's birthday party and I didn't know what I was going to put on my body. I looked in my closet and it seemed empty, unpromising. I've had these moments before; everything was old, ill-fitting, or blah. I thought to myself, "Ugh! I have NOTHING to wear!" Then I began rifling through my closet and saw a forgotten shirt I loved and many more, and I realized I was crazy. I had plenty to wear, and plenty to choose from. My closet was FULL of treasures! At that moment I decided I would take a year to explore my closet and to add NOTHING new to my wardrobe.

I would create a NEW outfit for each day in order to maximize my wardrobe and shake up my style.

Basically, I would try to "snap out" of my fashion rut, and appreciate what I have.

It was my New Years' project:
One Closet, One Year.

90 Days To Go!

I made it through another day without repeating! Yay! I also made it through another day without physically harming one of my children! From the moment I picked the boys up it was melt-down mania. Everyone, from me to Haha, was cranky. Even Jordan got into the mix! Even though I deal with a teenager daily, I am not mentally ready to be navigating these pubescent waters.

Anyway, I could go into the details of the melt-downs, but I will not. I am desperate to get into bed before midnight after two nights of hitting my pillow at one a.m. So I will try to make it happen.

Right now.

Shirt: Forever 21. I bought this when I was pregnant, and it seems not to fit that well. I belted it to make up for the poor fit, and to hide a stain!

Belt: This was a gift from my fabulously talented and brilliant Aunt D. She used to sew me clothes when I was a little girl. She is the arbiter of taste and style! And very generous.

Pants: Goodwill. I.N.C.

Shoes: zoe & zac.
