one closet, one year!

I was getting dressed for a friend's birthday party and I didn't know what I was going to put on my body. I looked in my closet and it seemed empty, unpromising. I've had these moments before; everything was old, ill-fitting, or blah. I thought to myself, "Ugh! I have NOTHING to wear!" Then I began rifling through my closet and saw a forgotten shirt I loved and many more, and I realized I was crazy. I had plenty to wear, and plenty to choose from. My closet was FULL of treasures! At that moment I decided I would take a year to explore my closet and to add NOTHING new to my wardrobe.

I would create a NEW outfit for each day in order to maximize my wardrobe and shake up my style.

Basically, I would try to "snap out" of my fashion rut, and appreciate what I have.

It was my New Years' project:
One Closet, One Year.

Shades of Gray!

I love gray. There is something about it that I find appealing. Dark gray. Heathered gray. Light gray. I even like gray days. Perhaps because they are so rare in these parts.

I grabbed the gray when I was getting dressed this morning. Mostly because I knew I hadn't worn these items together. I went to breakfast with my peeps, made my best friend almost miss her flight back to New York, and spent the rest of the day petering about the house, only stepping out to get some onions for a stew.

Speaking of gray, Richard sent me an interesting article about The Pill. The article states that The Pill has an effect on the brain, particularly the gray matter. How important or detrimental the effect is, is still up for debate. The research, it seems, is new and still emerging. I have always been suspect of putting hormones in my body. I did try the Nuva Ring for a spell after I had Charlie and Leo, and, I felt awful on it. Luckily, I never have to bother with it again! This new information only adds to my suspicion of hormonal birth control. That said, I do understand that some women feel fine on The Pill, and, it revolutionized the lives of women everywhere! History, I'm sure, would be very different without it.

  2. I love the series of HaHa pics. Fashion hurts!
And I have to say, grey matter or not, I loves me my birth control pill. It's my one exception to my au naturel rule. That said, I can't wait to go off the pill and try my hand at baby making.:)
