Birth of a project

I was getting dressed for a friend's birthday party and I didn't know what I was going to put on my body. I looked in my closet and it seemed empty, unpromising. I've had these moments before; everything was old, ill-fitting, or blah. I thought to myself, "Ugh! I have NOTHING to wear!" Then I began rifling through my closet and saw a forgotten shirt I loved and many more, and I realized I was crazy. I had plenty to wear, and plenty to choose from. My closet was FULL of treasures! At that moment I decided I would take a year to explore my closet and to add NOTHING new to my wardrobe.

I would create a NEW outfit for each day in order to maximize my wardrobe and shake up my style.

Basically, I would try to "snap out" of my fashion rut, and appreciate what I have.

It was my New Years' project:
One Closet, One Year.

Death and Taxes!

Oh NO! I am sitting down at the computer for the first time today, its late, and I just looked at my photos  and they are not good! I had to work today, so I threw something on without much thought. The only thing I did think about was, "Am I repeating?" Once I was certain that I was not wearing a repeat, I quickly went about my morning madness.

I felt fine in my outfit all day. I even got a couple of compliments. But when I saw the pictures I took of myself upon arriving home, I thought "Yikes! What was I thinking?!" I look totally preggers, and the layers are not working today.

Speaking of being preggers, last night I spied a suspicious curve in my belly as I got ready for bed. Given Richard's recent permanent procedure, I knew what I was thinking was impossible, but I still got a little nervous. Maybe I wanted to believe I was pregnant because then I wouldn't have to admit that I had eaten one too many slices of cake in celebrating my birthday last week. Cake and drinks and pasta and sorbetto and bread...

On to pictures! I am hoping Hollis will save me today because she took the cutest photo ever! See Below!
