Birth of a project

I was getting dressed for a friend's birthday party and I didn't know what I was going to put on my body. I looked in my closet and it seemed empty, unpromising. I've had these moments before; everything was old, ill-fitting, or blah. I thought to myself, "Ugh! I have NOTHING to wear!" Then I began rifling through my closet and saw a forgotten shirt I loved and many more, and I realized I was crazy. I had plenty to wear, and plenty to choose from. My closet was FULL of treasures! At that moment I decided I would take a year to explore my closet and to add NOTHING new to my wardrobe.

I would create a NEW outfit for each day in order to maximize my wardrobe and shake up my style.

Basically, I would try to "snap out" of my fashion rut, and appreciate what I have.

It was my New Years' project:
One Closet, One Year.

Band Practice II!

I just crawled through the front door after getting up at the crack of dawn, working all day, and going straight to band practice. We have a gig on Saturday. I think everyone in the band must have been tired, because we were sloppy and not as together as we usually are.

Whatever the case, all I want now is to get in a hot tub and go directly to bed.

I missed my awesome cousin's comedy show tonight. Big bummer! I am actually wearing two of my cousin's hand-me-downs today. I am lucky that she has great taste. Thank you!

I am falling asleep as I type....Night-night!

I recently saw a jacket cinched with a belt, and I realized I wanted to try this with my clothes.

Jacket: George.

Belt: goodwill.

Shirt: Hand-me-down from cousin, Forever 21.

Skirt: Hand me down from cousin.

Boots: Dansko.

  1. Love this combo.

And your stylish with great taste cousin was one of the best of the night, not even kidding. She killed it and I definitely felt like one of her groupies.

People around were whispering about how funny she was and is. *clapping* Hercules Hercules!
