Birth of a project

I was getting dressed for a friend's birthday party and I didn't know what I was going to put on my body. I looked in my closet and it seemed empty, unpromising. I've had these moments before; everything was old, ill-fitting, or blah. I thought to myself, "Ugh! I have NOTHING to wear!" Then I began rifling through my closet and saw a forgotten shirt I loved and many more, and I realized I was crazy. I had plenty to wear, and plenty to choose from. My closet was FULL of treasures! At that moment I decided I would take a year to explore my closet and to add NOTHING new to my wardrobe.

I would create a NEW outfit for each day in order to maximize my wardrobe and shake up my style.

Basically, I would try to "snap out" of my fashion rut, and appreciate what I have.

It was my New Years' project:
One Closet, One Year.

Beachy Keen!!!

We spent the day at Malibu. Beautiful, placid, Malibu. It was lovely and fun and sweet and happy and I got to see some people that I haven't seen in too long.

Days have turned into months and- BAM, just like that, a baby I last saw when he was two months old, is one! Crazy!

I just started falling asleep while posting, so I am going to keep it short and sweet!

Shirt: Cousin hand-me-down. French Connection. I'm wearing it backwards!

Skirt: Salvation Army. High school purchase!

Sweater: Thrift store. J Crew.

Shoes: zoe & zack.

  1. Miss Thang would look so fabu if she could just get some earrings in those cute little ears! Love, Aunt Janine

  2. You amaze me. I LOVE this outfit and you've never worn it before?! How do you do it? Magic?

  3. Necessity is the mother of invention! I have worn these items, but not together! And this is the first time I brought out the sweater. Perfect for a chilly beach day!

As for earrings, I don't think Richard would allow it!
